The HAW Hamburg scholarship awards for academic merit to its international Master’s students, the scholarship will provide twice a year, each scholarship will take a duration period of 5 months.
The HAW Hamburg Master scholarship will be of 2 types, first, one Application in the first-semester second one is an Application after the first semester or for a scholarship extension, the University of HAW Hamburg students can apply before the deadline to get benefits, it’s helpful to study Master courses at HAW Hamburg.
AW Hamburg Master Scholarship 2023 – Eligibility Criteria
Applicant should be an international Master’s student at the HAW Hamburg, the Student should have completed your school education outside of Germany or successfully graduated from a Studienkolleg. Applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree with a final grade of 2.5 or better according to the German grading system.
Candidates are not eligible for a BAföG loan. (If you fulfill the criteria for a BAföG loan but do not receive funding, you are not eligible for the scholarship). Students studying the degree programs Design, Public Health, Public Management, Social and Health Management may not apply for the scholarship.

- Letter of recommendation from a professor from the university where you completed your Bachelor’s degree
- Copies of your Bachelor’s certificate and your uni-assist VPD document
- Confirmation of enrolment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung, download from HELIOS)
- Copy of your residence permit (for non-EU citizens) or ID/passport (for EU citizens)

- Letter of Motivation
- Curriculum Vitae (not necessary if you are applying for an extension)
- Letter of recommendation from a professor at the HAW Hamburg
- Confirmation from the chairman of the examination board (last page of the application form)
- Confirmation of enrollment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung, download from HELIOS)
- Transcript of records (if you are applying for an extension please mark with an X the exams taken since the last application)
- Copy of your residence permit (for non-EU citizens) or ID/passport (for EU citizens)
HAW Hamburg Master Scholarship Application 2023 Process
Submit all the completed applications to the International office. If you need to submit your application outside of the open office hours you can use the post box next to the International Office entrance.
